Moms Give Back

GC SEPTA would like to highlight some Garden City special needs moms that are using their time and talents to advocate for inclusion.

Theresa DeMarco

Theresa, along with her son Sean, have created One for All. One for All is a unique gift shop offering a wide variety of goods and treats made exclusively by extraordinary entrepreneurs and social enterprises that employ young adults with different abilities.

Tara McCarton

Tara, author of the book, The Wish has made it her mission to put a positive story about microcephaly and children with developmental delays out into the world. The Wish will inspire and teach everyone about kindness, inclusion, and the value of focusing on the ability in disability.

Amy McCoy

Amy’s middle-grade novels explore a young girl’s relationship with her brother who has autism and her efforts to make her peers more understanding of those with special needs. Amy, a former elementary school teacher, also works for a nonprofit whose mission is to help families raising children with disabilities navigate the world of special education.
